This is stated in a report by NK News released this week, which estimates the South Korean ministry's plans for unification at $ 8 million.
The site translated an "urgent notice" posted on the Korean government's employment website, which indicated the project's budget of 8.97 billion won (equivalent to $ 8 million).
According to the report, "the system will use the power of artificial intelligence to analyze photos, videos, documents and audio files related to North Korea, which are received in real time, as well as media already received and stored by the ministry of unification." The system will also seek to use this information to automatically generate reports on North Korea and generate "artificial intelligence-based conclusions" about what is about to happen in the DPRK. "
From this budget, the project will allocate $ 444,632 for "Big Data Analysis" and $ 5.3 million for "Software Development and Implementation", of which $ 2.2 million will be spent on the project's operating system.
“We need to find ways to support the policy of unification, exchange and cooperation, as well as inter-Korean meetings, by helping to analyze and evaluate information coming from North Korea in real time using AI and big data,” the unification ministry said, according to NK News.
