Trump and Biden Win the Republican and Democratic Primaries

Former US President Donald Trump and current White House owner Joe Biden won the Republican and Democratic primaries, American media reported. Thus, they will soon be officially nominated for US President by their parties - and the 2024 elections will become a virtual repetition of the 2020 campaign, when Biden defeated Trump.

Biden's nomination for US President from the Democratic Party was a formality, since the current leader of the country who decides to run for a second term, as a rule, does not face serious competition.

For the Republicans, the battle for the nomination was quite serious, although Trump had a huge advantage from the very beginning of the campaign and his closest competitor, former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, had almost no real chance of winning the nomination.

On Tuesday, Republican primaries were held in four states: Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi and Washington.

After Haley dropped out of the race amid Super Tuesday defeats, Trump was just 137 delegates short of the party conference that will soon formally nominate a presidential candidate.

The US presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024.
