European and Ukrainian officials met in Paris on Thursday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff on ending the war in Ukraine through direct talks with Moscow and had what a source at the Elysee Palace in France described as an “excellent exchange.” After the talks, Rubio relayed “the same information” to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov by phone.
