President Trump has tasked retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg with ending the war in Ukraine within 100 days. The order is not meant to be taken literally, as the mission Donald Trump has entrusted himself with is clearly more complex than he has previously stated. Rather, the new order is meant to underscore that Kellogg’s role as special envoy to Ukraine is the first step in peace talks that Trump intends to oversee personally. Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, 80, who previously served as Vice President Mike Pence’s national security adviser, has a plan to end the war, but sources say the new president will keep it under his direct control.
