Vladimir Mironov (1953-2020) was born in Moscow in a family of workers, after graduating school in 1970 he tried to enter the philosophy department of Moscow State University. Lacking points, he went to work as a turner, then served in the military. In 1974, after completing preparatory courses, he entered Moscow State University. After graduating from the Faculty of Philosophy and postgraduate studies at the Department of Diamat, he was invited to stay teaching. Since 1981, he has worked at Moscow State University as a junior researcher, teacher, and a senior teacher. After defending his Ph.D. thesis "Dialectical-materialistic foundations of criticism of the concepts of scientism and anti-scientism" he was elected associate professor (1988) and became deputy dean of the Faculty of Philosophy. In 1997 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Science and philosophy in the system of worldview orientations of modern culture." Professor (1998).
In 1998, Vladimir Mironov was elected Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University, at the same time, since 1998, he has headed the Department of Ontology and Theory of Knowledge.
