A coronavirus outbreak has already claimed the lives of nearly 100,000 Americans. However, since the outbreak began, the main deaths occurred mainly in large urban areas, especially New York.
Almost all the places most affected by the outbreak of coronavirus are places where relatively large proportions of ethnic and racial minorities or densely populated urban and suburban areas live, and almost all of them are represented in Congress by congressmen from the Democratic Party.
A new study by the Pew Research Center from official mortality reports from COVID-19, compiled by Johns Hopkins University's Center for Systems Research and Engineering, found that of the more than 92,000 Americans who died from COVID-19 as of May 20 (date when the data of this analysis were collected), almost 75,000 were in "democratic" districts.
