Mandatory circulation in Ukrainian and Biden's "zrada": Top 5 events of the week

1. In Ukraine, since January 16, the requirement of the language law for publishers of national and regional print media on the mandatory use of the Ukrainian language in their publications has come into force. Those publishers who want to print a circulation in Russian will need to publish the same circulation in Ukrainian.

2. On Monday, January 17, the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, returned to Ukraine. Right at the airport, he spoke to a crowd of associates and immediately went to court, where he was supposed to choose a preventive measure in the case of high treason in favor of Russia. On January 19, the court released Poroshenko on personal bond.

3. The head of US diplomacy, Anthony Blinken, made an emergency visit to Kiev and said that President Joe Biden asked him to reaffirm the US commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

4. According to the Fox News channel, from Monday, January 24, the evacuation of the families of American diplomats from Ukraine should begin. The State Department said that no official decisions had been made on the evacuation of American citizens from Ukraine. Before that, there were rumors (also officially refuted) about the evacuation of the families of Russian diplomats from Ukraine.

5. At a press conference on the first anniversary of the presidency, Joe Biden said that the way Russia is punished will depend on the degree of its "invasion". If Putin undertakes a "minor incursion", then "there are divisions within NATO about what countries are willing to do."
