The new World Bank president

April 9 will start the five-year term of the new World Bank president David Malpass. Previously, this well-known economist served as Deputy Minister of Finance of the United States of America and he is considered a protégé of Donald Trump. The candidacy of the 63-year-old Republican was proposed by D. Trump and supported by the executive directors of the bank unanimously, despite the fact that Malpass had previously opposed World Bank policies.
